Your first coursework deadlines are fast approaching! See below for details of dates and requirements. Please remember that the only way that I can help you to improve is if you do the work in the first place. Students who miss these deadlines without good reason will be referred to Mr Hall. As coursework counts for 50% of the course, these matters are taken very seriously.


These initial deadlines are designed so that I can mark your work before giving you feedback. You will then have a couple of weeks in January in which to improve.


I will be going through the evaluation element of the project at the end of next week with all groups. Remember that all material must be uploaded onto the blog if I am going to be able to mark it.

Deadline for 'final products': Wednesday 8th December

Deadline for first draft of the evaluation: Friday 17th December


A2


Deadline for music video / trailer: Monday 6th December

Deadline for first draft of the evaluation: Friday 17th December


A2 students should note that, ideally, your ancillary products (album packaging, posters, magazine covers) should also be complete. However, if you're short of time, these items can wait until after the holidays.

Welcome back Media students! I say welcome back, but as all A2 students have obviously been working on their coursework throughout the summer, it's almost like you've never been away!


Congratulations are due to A2 students for a fantastic set of AS results! We had more A and B grades than ever before, with 8 students attaining an A in the exam.

For those of you who are new, this blog forms the gateway to Biddulph High's Media resources. You can use the links on the right to access the other module blogs and other relevant sites. You'll find links to other student blogs on the Foundation Portfolio and Advanced Portfolio blogs.


You should check back here on a regular basis for information on new resources, deadlines, and other special trinkets discovered by myself.

Revision: Get Organised!

It's now only a couple of weeks until the AS and A2 exams, and there's no better place to start your revision than right here. The links on the right provide access to the different module blogs (British Film for AS and Critical Perspectives for A2), with each containing a wealth of resources and links. Remember to keep checking back for further content as the exams approach.



Revision sessions will take place directly before each exam (see below), and please remember than you can come and see me in school at any time. Other than lunch time. Or break for that matter...a man has got eat, for goodness sake!

You'll be happy to hear that it's only 6 weeks until the AS and A2 Media exams. The times and dates are as follows:


AS - TV Drama and The British Film Industry - Wednesday 9th June (PM)


A2 - Coursework Analysis and Media and Collective Identity - Tuesday 15th June (AM)


As well as the revision that will take place in lessons there will be specific revision sessions directly before each exam. Details to follow...


In the meantime, use the relevant course blogs (links on the right) as a starting point, and remember that you can see Mr Taylor for help at any time.

Half-Term Work and Final Deadlines

For any of you wishing to come into school to complete coursework over the holidays (such as the Y13s completing their music videos), I will in be in from 9.30am on Thursday 17th. If you are coming in, please remember to enter through main reception and to sign-in.

Also, a final reminder that final products and evaluations need to be posted by Friday 25th February. Anyone missing the deadline is at risk of not being entered!
